Home Visits
If you are not sure if a pig is the right pet for you, we encourage you to do as much research as possible and attend one of our Pet Pig 101 events. These events are scheduled several times a year, primarily in the spring and summer months. We do not schedule any events in the winter. These events are announced on our website and on our Facebook page. These events have a limited number of space and fill up quickly, so please make sure that you contact me asap after an event is announced to let me know that you are interested in attending. These events are outdoors and weather permitting. During these visits, you will meet our outdoor pigs and we will go over their care. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. We do not allow entry into our house or our piglet nursery and we do not have public restrooms. No exceptions.
For safety, insurance and health reasons, we only allow people who are either picking out a piglet or picking up a piglet to make appointments outside of our pig 101 classes. These appointments occur inside of our home and you will be able to see how we keep our indoor pigs and we will be happy to answer any questions that you have. We can also show you the parents if requested. A small deposit of $50 is required prior to making an appointment as these appointments are for families that are serious about purchasing a piglet from us. This deposit goes toward the total price of your piglet. If you do not like any of the piglets from our current litter, the deposit can be transferred to a future litter for up to 6 months. The deposit is not refundable. No exceptions. If you choose not to get a piglet from us, the deposit covers our time. Appointments are 1 hour for up to 3 people.
We do want to make sure that people that purchase a piglet from us are sure that it will be the perfect pet for their family. For this reason, we try to offer as many 101 classes through the year as possible. While waiting for the next class, we encourage you to read everything that you can find. You can never read too much! Here are some recommended websites:
